Career and Technical Education

Through the Portsmouth Public Schools Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, high school students can begin working on their dream careers by getting access to the skills and the learning needed to excel in those specific jobs or career pathways. The best part is they do it all while still working toward graduation.

You can see the full list of CTE courses here.

Students not only earn high school credit for CTE courses; they also can earn industry credentials. An industry credential is a recognized credential by industries that are used and/or needed for hiring, retaining or promoting staff in specific trades, jobs or workplaces.

CTE pathways help ensure students are successful after graduation. They give students the ability to directly enter the workforce or students can seek the appropriate educational opportunities after graduation to help further their career goals. To learn more about the division’s 14 CTE pathways, visit the CTE pathways webpage.
